“Through globalization, our world is becoming smaller every day, and I think that understanding this is crucial for the success of my generation. By exposing ourselves to the humanities, in my case specifically the arts and languages, we can best prepare ourselves for the future wherever in the world it may take us. Being able to fuse my general business degree with my Italian and art history background has had a profound impact on my experiences in the past and where I am today. I was able to study abroad twice, once with Pitt in Rome and once in Milan through the business school’s International Internship Program. My time studying the humanities both in Italy and at Pitt shaped me into a citizen of the world and gave me powerful momentum moving forward into my career after college. It is an amazing feeling to challenge yourself and learn another language and culture so that you can have that rare adaptability and versatility that are so valuable and attractive to all employers today.”
